from Paris to Mexico...
Can you hear the sound of the Mariachi and see their sombreros
dancing on the tops of their heads in the distance?
That’s right, this season we’re off to Mexico and taking inspiration
from its energy, colours, folklore and sunshine!
So who is Frida Kahlo? Frida Kahlo, our muse this season, was a Mexican artist born in 1907. She had a difficult childhood as she was struck down by illness and was a victim of an accident that left her bedbound. That’s when she taught herself to paint and did her first self-portraits.
She met the love of her life Diego Rivera and married him when she was 22. They shared a passion for art and their relationship was fiery but enriching.
This driven, anti-conformist, feminist and feminine woman has inspired us and takes us on a journey through her country.
